The Focuser

Team Maranatha made a movie called 'The Focuser'.  We had to pick a sport that we liked and relate it back to the key competencies and the learning that we did in class. My scene for the movie was when I combined basketball and aiming high in school together. Our movie has cool graphics. Well that's my opinion about my movie.

For the first few weeks we have been doing our 

P.A.T Reading Comprehension, Maths Measurement, Algebra, Writing tests. 

Before we started testing the year 8's had to come into Room 12 and the year 7's had to go to Room 11 for testing I was struggling but I still tried my best I had a can do attitude that day. Then it was finished so I was proud of myself. If

Words Words Words Everywhere

On Monday I was not here at Ruapotaka School for my class assembly. Room 12 had a syndicate assembly on when I was not here I thought that would about it because that would be very not be there and not write about it. So here I go one sunny afternoon straight after lunch time there was a syndicate assembly with 4 huge class room wow but they could all fit in the small part of the multipurpose they had been given. Anavea got a certificate for who knows what we shouldn't for get Samuel he got a certificate too. Quros fist pumping the air. Wow I wish I was there to see Quros fist pumping the air hahahahaha that would of been funny everyone looking at him. The teacher probably said, "Quros pay attention" poor him he was going to be sad. 

Tiring Walk

Wow today was tiring. Walking around look for number that had information on plants and it was an activity. When we got to the Botanic Gardens we waited for our teacher to lead us to where we were going to start off from. We all followed each other then all of a sudden we split up out of nowhere. But then we on an adventure to hunt for numbers and find the information on what the plant was about. My class were playing around and saying there were clowns in the bush that was funny for me because I don't believe in  clowns. Most of the people are saying that clowns are real but there fake that is opinion hahaha but clowns might be real lets get back on track. We were walking in the bush where there were plants hunting down those numbers those were really hard to find we did not find some of the numbers the numbers we did not find were the number 1 and 6 so we did not get to answer those questions. When we were finished the hunt we went back to school by bus. We arrived back at school around 12:30 but it was fun going to the Botanic Gardens.

Yesterday after morning tea we had an amazing day of skipping. Sophie-Isabella came 1st Quros was in it but sadly he didn't come 1st, 2nd or 3rd. My group, group 1 and group 4 were together because we had an individual skipping display to do as well as the skip off.

Basketball Training Is Over

Basketball training is over!!! Basketball is over we have no more basketball for Room 12. Room 12 is very unhappy because basketball was fun because the coach taught Room 12 how to play basketball properly. My team was Quros, Mika, Jack Daniel and Azahar. When the end session came my team got split up in to T - shirt tucked in and T - shirts Untucked. My team Untucked won the basketball game in the session on Wednesday 14th 11:51 in the morning. Basketball was very fun even though that I thought that it was going to be boring it was actually very big experience for me learning how to play basketball properly instead of just playing with no rules.

On Monday at our senior syndicate assembly the leaders for the school Mini Olympics had to pick the teams out of a container. There were 16 teams to choose from. My team is Japan because Tyla the leader pulled it out of the container.

GOOD DAY FOR SNAG GOLF

On Friday morning we had SNAG golf. My class Room 12 had snag golf inside the multipurpose room with coach Danny he taught how to chip the ball from the tee on the sticky mat if we got it on the yellow and red target with the number 1 on it then we had to yell out "I got snag"so that coach Danny could know if was to easy for or to hard for us. And if it was to hard he would make it harder but there is a but if he herd to much "sagacity sagacity snag" then he would make it harder.  This is all I can remember. but I will put a link to our class site videos

"Very Sad" Snag Golf Is Over The Last Day On Thursday 7th June 2016

"Very Sad Day For Me" Snag Golf Is Over On Thursday.

Snag Golf was very fun and we had 4 weeks of Snag Golf. I would like to thank coach Jay for teaching us how to play Snag Golf. I learnt a lot. We had Snag Golf only 1 day a week but it was awesome. Coach Jay gave up his time to teach the senior block how to play Snag Golf every Thursday. Jack Daniel, Azahar, and I went through Snag Golf together as a team. We were in the same team the whole way through the activity. It was very sad for me because coach Jay is going to be leaving.

A Happy Moment For Me And My Class!

On Thursday my class had snag golf with coach Jay. Coach Jay is Indian he is very good at putting and rolling. Close to the end of snag golf we had a challenge who could get it on the bull's eye. The bull's eye was the number one with a target. We had to yell out 'SNAG!!'  when we got the ball on the target. It was fun for my class and me because we had challenges.  My team won the first round for rolling the ball on to the target.  In my team were Azahar, and Jack Daniel. We had a challenge, the first team to get the tennis ball in the hula hoop 7 times won the challenge. When the coach said to pack up my team just got 7 balls in the hula hoop. It was interesting for me and my team we had fun.

"Buddy Reading With Room 7"

On Wednesday Room 7 came to Room 12 for buddy reading. Room 7 had to listen to Room 12 read to them. It wasn't fun because I have no interest in reading. Reading is not my favourite subject. It was loud in Room 12 because  ALL THE PEOPLE WERE READING OUT LOUDLY. Room 12 isn't really quiet that often it's usually loud in Room 12. 

Room 7 then read to us. They are very good at reading for their age. Room 12 aren't to bad at reading in the classroom. I'm not good at reading myself. The year eights should be role modeling the younger people how to do things. Room 7 are pretty much not interested into our big books at the moment. The words in the books are probably too hard for them to understand at this stage. When they get older they will understand what the words mean.

Tech Project

On Wednesday we had Tech. We had to answer questions on our topic that we had done in the past weeks. I didn't do anything because my chrome book was flat so I just drew for the rest of the Tech time. Then I had a drawing challenge from our Tech teacher Mr Pineda we had to try and draw 3D shapes using just a pencil and no ruler. Mr Pineda showed me and the other Year sevens. 
That is what we did for Tech.

Vector Lesson (Be Sustainable With Energy)

Last week we had a lesson on how to be safe around electricity. There was a lady named Estah. She talked to Rooms 9, 10, 11 and 12. After the lesson she gave all of us a pencil and activities book. After that my friend Quros  said a speech to Estah.  He had also done another one but that one was about books and how reading is fun. Then Estah shook Quros's hand.

Lunch Time Sport At Ruapotaka School!

Today at lunchtime we had soccer for sports. My team lost by one. I didn't get a goal in the whole game. The other team was too hard to beat. My team was not working together. They always kicked far down where there was nobody. In my team there were Sebastian, Matali and others; they are all the people I remember.  I think I have a bad memory. The teacher who had sports with us was Miss Misela .

Holiday Are Over Yeah!!

Guess who's back? I am, I am back from my 2 week school holidays. I'm about to write what I have done in the past 2 days in school. It has only been 1 minute and I can already feel the heat coming from the window. I am sweating like a pig that is in the desert.


When I came on the first day from the 2 week holidays, I walked into class and everyone was there talking to the teacher asking her how was her holidays. Then I just walked straight through and said, "Morning Mrs Golder", and just kept on walking. I went to the basketball court to play basketball with my friends. Then the bell rang at 9:00am then everyone went in front of the senior block to do fitness to get our brains turned on. Then we had to go into class and do the roll. Then the absent book was taken up to the office, so the office lady can see who's present and who is absent. Using this information,  the truancy officer goes and gets the truant students and that is what happens every morning.   

    

                                     

Schools finished YEAH!

On Friday we are finishing school earlier than normal because of the school holidays. We are going to finish at 12 o'clock and are having lunch at home because school finishes at the time we have lunch. I can't wait till because I want to have a holiday away from school. I'm going to run home and play games with my family. We are going to play the PlayStation 3.

First day at tech

Every Wednesday the Yr 7 and Yr 8s. I do graphics with the Yr 7s in Room 12 my class the people in my group. The people in my group are Jack, Athens, Azahar, Meana, Timote, Mika, Lupe, and me we learn how to draw 3D shapes and learn how to make a shade that looks the 3D shape. Mr Perinida he show us how to draw things that were hard to draw before now they are easy. Today we had to draw a monster of our own. We got to design the monster our own way I done a bomb monster with some fangs I could him Jeff his skin color changes on every different body part because I wanted to a mix up some of colors that were on my monster.  

                           

All About Me!

On Friday we had Mr Myer. He told the class room to make a slide about things about your self but the people in Room 9 last year done it already so we got to do next activity but we didn't get to catch up on the work that we done with Mr Myer. We had to finish it then we had to go on to the next activity the next activity was mind maps we had to make the mind map about what ever we want. 

Duffy's Adventure

On Monday some Duffy people came to perform.  This time it was about traveling back in time to the very old days when World War 2 started.  Then Duffy went to save his friend Ruby's dad before he died in World War 2. Before he went to World War 2 he went to ancient Japan. If Duffy didn't go back in time then Ruby's dad would have died and everything would have been hard for Ruby and her mum.  They would have  had to do everything by themselves. They would have had to pick everything from out of the garden and hang them by themselves.  

 

5 plus a day tabloids

On Wednesday the whole of Ruapotaka school went to Room 1 to find out what teams they were in for tabloids. It was fun playing with fruit and vegetables for tabloids.  There were 11 teams because two of the teachers were doing the same thing with a broccoli.  They were playing under and over. Mr Sok the teacher from Room 6 played basketball with lemons. Mr Reid the teacher from Room 11 played played throw the ball at the coconut on the pole.

     

 

Back To Learning At School

On Wednesday the six week school holiday finished. I had to go back to school. I was happy to go back to school because I wanted to play with my friends and learn new things with a new teacher. When everybody went back to class there was a mixture of Room Nine Year 7s and Room Eleven Year 8s. I am a Year 7  in Room 12. I am going to learn so much this year with my teacher and classroom.
